(2) have never hunted before.

OYHP rules require each hunter to be accompanied by an adult that is familiar with the youth hunter’s medical history and has legal authority to authorize medical treatment for the youth hunter in the event of an emergency (“accompanying adult”) throughout the course of the weekend.

OYHP Code of Conduct

  • Any use of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught with any substance will be asked to leave hunt.
  • Parents and youth must follow the huntmaster’s instructions. The huntmaster is in charge of the hunt at all times and has the authority to end the hunt or ask any participants to leave the hunt.
  • Parents are responsible for transportation to and from hunt site.
  • Hunters are responsible for deer tags and hunting license if required.
  • Be considerate of other participants’ needs and feelings.
  • Everyone should help around camp. (dishes, cooking, trash detail, game processing).
  • No personal firearms are to be brought to hunt unless authorized by huntmaster.
  • A parent/guardian will be required to participate with youth.
  • Parents and youth will treat everyone with respect. Any concerns shall be addressed by huntmaster.
  • Safety is everyone’s concern. Please notify huntmaster of any problem.
  • Parent/guardian will accompany youth at all times.
  • Parents are responsible for actions of youth around camp.
  • One parent/guardian per each youth hunter on the hunt.
  • Parents/guardians and hunter are required to stay for the entire weekend regardless of day the game is harvested.
  • Prior to hunt please notify huntmaster of any allergies or any special medical requirements prior to hunt.
  • Youth will be required to meet with huntmaster at shooting range to practice prior to hunt. Huntmaster will set time date, time, and location.
  • No electronics during hunt.
  • Due to limited space, only youth hunter and parent/guardian are allowed in camp. No other family members allowed to attend the hunt.
  • No volunteer shall be alone with child at anytime. At least 2 adults will accompany a child in field.
  • Participants must All have fun!
